Yoto Says: These stories are full of small problems that feel huge, funny mishaps, and Karen’s very confident take on all of it.
Karen Brewer is convinced that big things are always happening—even when grown-ups don’t see them. In this pack, Karen’s imagination, determination, and strong opinions lead her into a series of very real (and very funny) adventures.
When a mysterious neighbor with a black cat moves in next door, Karen is sure she’s discovered a real witch and decides it’s up to her to stop the spell before it’s too late. Then, after showing off her skills on brand-new roller skates, an accident lands Karen in a cast—and on a mission to get a famous autograph, no matter what it takes. And when everything seems to go wrong at once—lost clothes, missing prizes, and a runaway cat—Karen is certain the universe has turned against her, leaving her to survive what might be the worst day ever.
Full of humor, small-scale drama, and Karen’s unforgettable point of view, this pack captures the everyday ups and downs of growing up—with plenty of imagination along the way.
